2021 Karter of the Year Migs Quiñones competes in Malaysia for 2022 pre-season tune-up kart races.

Reigning Champion and 2021 Philippines' Senior Karter of the Year Miguel Quiñones of DRQ Motorsports travelled to Malaysia to compete in the Rotax MAX Challenge Malaysia (RMCM) this weekend March 12 and 13 at the Morac Adventure park in Langkawi, Malaysia. Joining him is his sister racer Shasha Quiñones in the off-shore tune-up race competing in the same Senior Class.

Quiñones siblings Migs and Shasha have been preparing rigorously in almost every weekend for the 2022 Philippines Karting Race Series opener this coming April, 2022 at the Carmona Racetrack in Cavite of which Migs is the defending champion while his sister on the same class is a runner-up. It must be remembered that in year 2021, kart racer Migs campaigned in Italy for a European team Zanchi Motorsport where he gained much needed experience enroute to a sweep of the last four (4) rounds of the local Phils. karting races which landed him into top spot after that overseas tourney. The winning streak earned him a trending moniker of "The Asssasin" and "The Quadruple Champion", a historic feat yet unmatched in the annals of Phils. karting races where a karter won straight 4-consecutive round wins in a matter of 2-days after fighting off jet-lag suffered from intermission stints abroad days before.
In Malaysia, they’ll be racing this time under the banner of the Philippine flag with the Double R Motorsports (DRM Racing Team). Race 1 will be held on Saturday-March 11 and Race 2 slated on Sunday-March 12 in a sprawling 1.200km Morac Adventure Park’s racetrack.

Champion racer Miguel Quiñones who is an advocate for "Grassroots Development of Motorsports", is effectively considered as an ambassador of kart racing in the Philippines having received various achievement honors from several awards body including the elite Golden Wheels Award. As to sustain his goal of promoting motorsports, Migs in cooperation with RacersPH media production team started months ago an FB fanpage named "Racer Miguel Quiñones" to update his supporters, sponsors and followers (growing fast now at 11,000+++ followers) in his goal to spread the good news that despite economic hardships in the country, the Motorsports arena is alive and kicking.
