A Dominating Finish in Round 3 kept DRQ Top Gun Miguel Quiñones on the Leaderboard at ROK GP

Updated: Jul 22, 2022

Rounds 2 and 3 of the ROK GP Cup Philippines Karting Series were held recently at the Clark International Speedway last July 09, 2022. The 2021 AAP Driver of the Year for Karting Miguel "The Assassin" Quiñones dominated the 3rd Round from start to finish line to solidify his lead in the series scorecards by a commanding 22 points gap ahead of his nearest rival. The reigning Karter of the Year who also races offshore under the DRM team of Malaysia and ZM team of Italy is in the hunt for a rare back-to-back National Senior title. Miguel who is called "The Assassin" in Karting last year because of his unprecedented quadruple victories in a weekend race hopes to duplicate the feat again when the tournament resumes on July 30 to 31 at the Carmona Racing Circuit where he has a perceived homecourt advantage.

Below is the rundown of the top 3 Senior Karter's category scorecards based on the latest official count:

Position Kart Number Name Accumulated Points (Round 1 to 3)

1 45 Miguel Quiñones 176

2 35 Gabriel Carag 154

3 16 Manuel Rafa Caceres 142

Aside from Karting, Miguel has a busy race schedule ahead of him where he is slated again to compete in Round 2 of the TGR Vios Cup and the forthcoming Formula V1. He also trains in AutoCross by competing from time to time in PACS - Philippines AutoCross Championship Series to improve his car maneuvers and handling control.

The reward for garnering and holding 1st place in the ROK GP Cup Philippines Overall Championship is a stint in ROK GP Cup World Finals as a Philippines representative, usually held at SOUTH GARDA KARTING Track in Lonato, Italy. Last year it was Miguel who represented the country in this tournament and if his winning trend continues he will for sure be doing it again this year.
