Miguel Quiñones wins the 2022 Rotax Max Philippines Challenge Overall Title.

Senior Class karter Miguel Quiñones swept the last two rounds (5 and 6) of the Rotax Max Philippines Challenge in dominating fashion earning him a seat to represent the Philippines in the Rotax Max World Finals at Portimao, Portugal this coming November 2022.

The last two rounds at Carmona Racing Circuit in Cavite allowed Miguel to increase his points scorecard from a precarious 2-point lead ahead of his nearest rival Gabriel Carag. Round 5 netted Miguel a P1 (first position) in all heats from Time Trial to Qualifying and into to the Finals heat thus padding his scores to a more comfortable margin. The following day, Miguel used this momentum to duplicate his Saturday win with a big gap breakaway lead from time trial to the final heat to finally settle the series-ending match that will send him to Portugal for the World Finals race representing DRQ Motorsports and the Philippines.

19 years old Racer Miguel is the current Automobile Association Philippines Driver of the Year (Karting) and the 2021 Overall Karter of the Year in the Seniors Division. Winning the Rotax Max Challenge Philippines Overall Championship this October and the recent Rok GP Cup Philippines Overall Crown - Seniors Class last September eventually landed him again the title of the Karter of the Year for 2022, making him a rare back-to-back Karter of the Year of the Philippines in the Seniors Category.

The winning moments of Miguel in the karting races also provide him more confidence to continue his quest for a car racing title where presently he is headed to compete in the last and final round of the Toyota Gazoo Racing Vios Cup. He actually made a headway already in the previous round when he garnered double 1st-runner finishes. As the son of a very supportive parent, the renowned Aesthetic Surgeon Ricky Quiñones, Miguel also cross-trains in slalom and autocross to develop more of his skills in driving.
