National Karter and Driver of the Year Miguel Quiñones wins anew in the 2022 Rotax Max Challenge.

Recently awarded by the Automobile Association Philippines (AAP) as the 2021 Driver of the Year for Karting, Champion Miguel Quiñones started his campaign to defend his title by winning the series opener Round 1 of the 2022 Rotax Max Philippines Challenge held last 10th of April at the Carmona Racing Circuit in Cavite.

It must be highlighted that this opening championship win by Miguel effectively extends his last year's winning streak when he was labelled as the "Quadruple Champion" after bagging a record-breaking consecutive (4) wins in the last rounds of the National Series eventually sealing his crown as the Philippines National Karter of the Year for 2021.

Miguel of DRQ Motorsports team(owned and founded by the famous Aesthetic Surgeon Dr. Ricardo Galvez Quiñones) after undergoing serious training and doing a tune-up competition last March in EKS Kart Race at the Pampanga International Circuit which netted him a 1st place Championship round trophy, started strong by taking pole position in the Time Trial ahead of his protege and now his arch-rival Karter Gabriel Carag.

In the Qualifying heat, Miguel got a scare of his race when rival teammate Gabriel outpaced him and took a convincing 1st place finish relegating the defending Champion to 2nd going to the Finals heat. Fortunately, Miguel's veteran International Racing experiences gained in competing against the World's best last year in Europe and Asia, propelled him to finish strong in the last heat to grab the Champion podium in Round 1 of the Seniors Class of the Rotax Max Challenge.

Round 2 of this karting series will be held this coming June at the elite Clark International Speedway in Pampanga and expect a more exciting tournament from the organizer Kart Plaza, Inc. and officially sanctioned by the Automobile Association of the Philippines (AAP) and Philippines International Karting Association (PIKA).
